    Ok, so I've been on a cowboy kick lately and I must say I was totally into Buck! I would give this book a 4.5, but rounded it up to a 5 for good measure.

    Buck is a rodeo star in a major way. Along with the rest of his brothers and little sister, they rule the circuit. The Calhoun clan is full of prime talent and they aren't shy about it. When the patriarch of the family dies, the family finds they are in danger of losing their beloved ranch because their father never updated his will. Unfortunately, a greedy cousin is set to inherit the land. In order to keep their ranch, they must come up with some quick cash; way more than they all can earn on the rodeo circuit.

    In the meantime, Buck and his fiancée Channing are on the outs. She is a sweet girl who loves him more than life, but feels neglected. He ignores her and pretty much withholds his feeling unless they are between the sheets. They've got 99 problems, but an organs ain't one! These two heat it up!!!

    The Calhouns are in need of money and so is Channing. When they are offered an opportunity to star in a reality tv show focusing on the first family of rodeos, they can't pass up the fast money. Channing and Buck have to pretend to still be engaged, as the producers of the show are planning their wedding as the season finale.

    The book follows the ups and downs of Buck and Channing as they film a reality show, while struggling with their feelings for each other. Buck realizes his mistakes and does his best to make it up to Channing, but she is unsure if he is sincere or just playing it up for the cameras. Once she trusts her heart, she finds her way back to her man.

    The book was well written and kept me wanting more. I look forward to the other books in the 'Rope n Ride Series'.

    Good start to a series, and Em Petrova can certainly turn up the heat because I lost count of the number of sizzling sex scenes, and while I have no problem with hot, raunchy sex scenes, I just wish the author would have also done a bit more in regards to character development. I was left wondering why, after becoming engaged to Channing, Buck suddenly seemed to cool off emotionally and stopped acknowledging Channing's presence unless it was sex-related.

    The plot is interesting and entertaining. The Calhoun family is trying to earn enough money to buy their ranch from their slimy cousin Ennis, who inherited it after Buck, Sr. died--which also needs more of an explanation. When the family is offered a chance to star in a reality TV show, the money is welcome but the intrusion into their personal lives doesn't make life easy, especially coming right after Channing breaks her engagement to Buck, and these two now have to pretend to be engaged and plan their wedding for the show. It also doesn't help that Channing's younger brother has accrued large gambling debts that Channing feels obligated to help him pay off--yet another reason for her to be part of the reality show, but since her relationship with Buck runs from hot to cold, it's not an easy charade to pull off, nor does it help that these two can't seem to keep their hands off one another.

    This is definitely a for adults only read because of its strong sexual content, and there are lots of Calhoun brothers and a Calhoun sister, and I'm looking forward to reading future installments.

    I LOVED this story. The beginning of the Rope n Ride series. I accidentally read them out of order but it really wasn’t a problem. I loved how Channing wanted more from Buck than he seemed to be able to give. He was almost emotionless until she stood her ground and he realized he might lose her. Then he worked hard to make her realize she was the only one for him and they were best together. Every story in this series was amazing. Loved them all!

    Wow! I found myself easily swept up in the storyline, loving it. Who knew cowboys and a little reality television went together so well? With little choice and money a factor Channing agrees to pretend that she's happily still in a relationship with Buck and planning their wedding. Pretending to be in love when you are really in love left her an emotional wreck. Especially with Buck emotionally detached as ever trying to get her back where she belongs, in his bed. Nothing like hot cowboys, sexual tension, passionate chemistry and family drama. Can't wait for more in this series.

    It's such a shame that the author didn't focus on the characters or the story. Instead she turned it into a sex fest between Buck and Channing. Too bad. This could have been a great book. The idea of a rodeo family having their own reality show is sensational. I wish the author had focused on more on the characters and plot and less on one sex scene after another.

    Loved this story, introducing readers to the Calhoun family and the idea of the rodeo reality series. Buck and Channing are engaged but it isn't all smooth sailing, or riding as the case may be. The family ranch is in danger thanks to inheritance laws, Channing feels like Buck is drifting away, Luke (Channing's brother) is in trouble and there are cameras everywhere! The chemistry between Buck and Channing is HOT AF but is that enough?
    Can't wait to read the rest of the family's stories.

    This is a standalone romance novel with a HEA that forms part of a series with overlapping characters. It is competently written, apart from a scene where Ridge and Ryder are muddled.
    The reason it doesn't get more stars is that essentially it is a series of sex scenes linked with small bits of story right from the start. I prefer a bit of a build up in the relationship and more story than sex. The sex scenes get a little similar despite the venue changes, and descriptions of anal sex don't appeal to me.
